My business cards say Marketing Director, Marketing Strategy Consultant, and Web Content and Social Media Manager. And when you drill down closer, I’m much more — I’m an integrated marketer, an effective communicator, a strategic thinker with a passion for adding value to customer experiences.
I’m also a big believer in understanding a buyer’s journey. Buyers don’t buy based on features and benefits. They base decisions on emotions and brand promises. What moves a buyer? Engagement, listening to their wants and needs, being conscientious, and delivering on that brand promise — consistently every time.
That’s where I’m different.
I coach my teams on how to effectively add value at every touch point of a customer journey. I serve customers with highly engaging experiences that solve problems for them.
My specialties include integrated marketing and communications campaigns with measurable objectives, digital marketing, social media marketing, consumer behavior and research, and brand awareness through partnerships (I’ve collaborated and partnered with companies such as the Seattle Storm basketball team, Ferrari of Seattle, and Parker, Smith, and Feek) — always with the customer in mind first.
EDUCATION & AWARDS
I graduated with honors with my Masters of Science in Marketing & Communication from Franklin University's Ross College of Business. My Final GPA: 4.0. I was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration.
Here is a project I completed in graduate school where I analyzed web and advertising usability and metrics for running companies.
I also have a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from Eastern Washington University as well as a Certificate in Copy Editing from MediaBistro.com and a Certificate of Writing for Children from Seattle Central College. My unpublished picture book manuscript titled "Ella's Umbrella" won first place in the children's category of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest.
My leadership style is a blend of coaching and serving. I "coach up" with my teams using highly conscientious Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills to mentor and motivate my teams (my personality type is the most rare, INFJ). I "serve up" by adding value to customer experiences by listening to the wants and needs of customers.
RUNNING & READING
I coach my own local run club named the Left Coast Runners. We use the hashtag #LeftCoastRunners on social media on Twitter and Instagram (and we communicate through a private Facebook page). I enjoy sharing my decades of running knowledge with new and intermediate runners. Follow my running adventures on FitFam.
I'm also an avid reader. You can find me on GoodReads.
